    Yes. Kinda like the old "hours of boredom punctuated by a few seconds of sheer pedestrian activity" from a Get Smart episode. : )
    I wonder if it hurts for them to give birth.

    They don't usually seem to mind laying eggs, but occasionally you'll see them do a short quick reversal when they lay an egg that may be because they feel it. I'm not aware of any evidence that they sense it as noxious (I would avoid saying "hurt" because that implies a level of consciousness worms probably don't have) , but we might actually be able to start addressing that using the data you're collecting because we know some of the mutants can't sense touch. If we see that touch-insensitive worms do fewer of those egg-induced short reversals, that might be a hint that they do normally feel egg laying.
