the kinking and coiling some worms exhibit is painful to watch. Does it have any genetic relevance to human diseases of muscular control?

Many of the mutations that lead to uncoordination in worms affect genes with basic functions in neurotransmission (how neurons send signals to each other and to muscles). A lot of these genes are present in both worms and humans, so there is potential relevance.
