UNC-7?

If this worm has UNC-7, can the baby already have it too?

Without a male around, c. elegans self-fertilizes, making all the babies clones(near clones? I forget if there's some variability or not. :\ ) of their single parent. So yes, the baby is an unc-7 too! You can already see even as a tiny baby she's got similar movement patterns.

I am surprised(?) the baby could have it early on, first one that I have seen struggling.

Not all the cells have divided yet when they're babies, I imagine that some mutations only show up at later stages in development. Plenty of human analogs for genetic diseases that present at different ages!
